First Temperature Monitoring Device for Laser Liposuction in St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) October 21, 2009

Dr. Robert Young, a board certified plastic surgeon, is the first in St. Louis, MIssouri to use the Sciton TempAssure. The Sciton TempAssure is the first device available to measure internal temperature during laser liposuciton.

Laser liposuction is a procedure in whcih the fat is heated by the laser and then suctioned out. By heating the underside of the skin this can promote tightening of the skin. That is the advantage of laser liposuction compared to traditional liposuction. Measurement of the internal temperature in real time allows the process to be done more safely and effectively. In short knowing the actual temperature allows heating to a temperature high enough to cause collagen remodeling and skin tightening with decreased risk of burning the skin from it becoming too hot. Single areas can be treated under local anesthesia in a minor procedure room.

Dr. Young’s office is located at St. Luke’s hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri and he can be contacted at (314) 275-8870. His webiste is http://www.AestheticStLouis.com.
